Eastern Oregon University Athletics

 Carter played for the Mountaineers in 1970 and 1972. Following the 1970 school year carter was drafted into the army and served in Vietnam. After being discharged in 1972 he returned to EOU.

Carter was named to the honorable mention All-Conference team in 1970, as well as 1^st team All-District and All West Coast 2^nd team. In 1972 he was chosen 1^st team All-Conference and All-District. Carter held records of most hits, runs and at bats in 1970 and most consecutive hits in 1972.
