Eastern Oregon University Athletics

The 1997 women's cross country team included Jennifer Funk, Keri Fezzey, Mishe Simantel, Jami Tuchscherer, Abby Peters, Jenny Newell and April Richards. Team awards included a Cascade Collegiate Conference championship and a sixth place finish at the NAIA national championships. The 1997 NAIA mark remains the highest women's team finish to date for EOU. All seven runners were named All-Conference as a result of their individual top 10 at the CCC meet. The 1997 team continues to hold the record for the fastest 5,000-meter team time in EOU history.
