Fetz was EOU's baseball coach for 21 seasons, from 1968-1987. During that time, Eastern complied a win-loss record of 459-329, finishing with a winning record 20 times. Under Fetz, Eastern won the NAIA District 2 Champtionship in 1970, and qualified for the district playoffs eight times. His teams were champions of the Evergreen Conference's Southern Division in 1970, 1973, 1975, 1980, 1984, and 1985; and won the Evergreen Co-Championship in 197-, 1973, 1980, 1983, and 1985. 

A total of six of his former players were honorable mention All-Americans, and 41 players earned First Team All-District Honors. Fetz is currently the Superintendent of School for the Petersburg School District and the Maupin Elementary School District, both near The Dalles.
