Deal played football at EOU from 1971-1974 under Hall of Fame coach Lee Insko. Deal reaped All-Conference honors and made the All-Northwest and All-West Coast teams for defense. He was named team captain in 1973 and 1974.
 
An all-around athlete for the Mountaineers, he also participated in track and field for two years. He now resides in Thompson Falls, Mont., where he runs his own business and enjoys the outdoors with his family.
