LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University Athletics is excited to welcome
Faith Wayman and
Hope Maes as the department's new Sports Information Directors.
Together, they will oversee coverage of all Mountaineer athletic programs, including website updates, game statistics, media relations, and social media content.
Wayman comes to EOU after serving as the Sports Information and Marketing Graduate Assistant at California Lutheran University, where she studied Sports Management and supported the Kingsmen and Regals' NCAA Division III programs. In her role, she managed both web and social media content, handled live stats operations, and assisted with live-stream productions.
Before Cal Lutheran, Wayman interned with the Sports Information staff at fellow Cascade Collegiate Conference institution Bushnell University, while earning her bachelor's degree in Kinesiology: Coaching and Athletic Administration.
Also a softball student-athlete for the Beacons, she was the team's Most Valuable Player and an All-CCC selection in 2023. Throughout her career, Wayman was named to the Academic All-Conference team three times and to the CSC Academic All-District team twice. She additionally served as the program's chaplain captain and ASA co-representative.
Maes, a native of Phillips Ranch, California, graduated summa cum laude from Cardinal Stritch University (Wisc.) in 2023 with a bachelor's degree in Sport and Recreation Business. She also recently earned her Master of Science in Sport Management at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in May 2025.
A softball player at both Stritch and Parkside, Maes earned First Team All-Conference and All-CCAC Tournament honors, contributing to the 2022 Stritch team's second-highest winning percentage in program history. She was also a two-time NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete and a two-time NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete.
Maes gained experience as a Sports Information intern at both institutions, supporting gameday operations, live stats, social media content creation and monitoring, website management, in-game marketing, press releases, and other communications tasks.
