Anji Weissenfluh

Anji Weissenfluh has served as Eastern Oregon University’s Athletic Director since 2015, providing leadership and direction for Mountaineer athletics. In addition to her role as AD, she has been the head coach of the EOU women’s basketball team since the 2000–01 season, leading the program for more than two decades.

In her years as Athletic Director at EOU, Weissenfluh has been named the Cascade Collegiate Conference AD of the Year once, garnering the honor at the end of the 2017-18 academic year. She is involved in campus facility development, including the "Building Champions Campaign" that resulted in state-of-the-art turf playing field for football, women's lacrosse, men's and women's soccer and a new track facility for the nationally recognized track & field program.

Weissenfluh is an active member of the Executive Leadership Team composed of senior administrators at EOU, and has a strong voice in the development of the new EOU Fieldhouse that will include a practice area for multiple sports and a number of classrooms/labs for the general student population. Weissenfluh was the EOU’s first ever softball coach and led the Mountaineers to over 250 victories in 11 seasons. During that time frame, Weissenfluh was named Coach of the Year on five separate occasions. In 1999, her squad finished the year ranked No. 4 in the nation followed by being ranked fifth in 2000.

As the head women’s basketball coach, Weissenfluh has posted 18 seasons of 20+ wins. She has guided the Mountaineers to 14 appearances in the NAIA Division II Women’s Basketball National Championships, including three quarterfinal appearances in 2012, 2013 and 2016. During her tenure at EOU, the Mountaineers have either shared or won outright 12 Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) regular season titles and won five conference tournament championships.

Her teams, in 20 seasons at the helm, have produced 10 NAIA All-Americans, one NAIA Honorable Mention All-American, five CCC Player of the Year honorees, and 32 All-Conference selections. Weissenfluh is the all-time winningest coach in EOU history.

Before taking over as the EOU women's basketball coach in 2000-01, Weissenfluh spent three years as the head girls’ basketball coach at Union High School and two as an assistant at EOU. Prior to becoming a coach and an administrator, Weissenfluh was a four-year starter for the Mountaineer women's basketball team and was an All-Conference selection. Weissenfluh holds the school record for steals (227) after four seasons on the hardwood. Upon completion of her eligibility, she became the head softball coach at EOU.

Weissenfluh graduated from EOU in 1994 with a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education and Health.
