EUGENE, Ore.- The Eastern Oregon Mountaineers (1-22) were swept by The Bushnell University Beacons (15-9) in this weekend's CCC matchup. The Mounties got on the board first in game one, but the Beacons made a comeback and added to their lead to take game one 10-1. Game two consisted of lockdown defense for both teams, but ultimately the Beacons scratched across three runs which was just enough to take game two 3-0. EOU will be back at home this upcoming weekend, facing fellow CCC opponent, the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds, at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. Friday, March 31st, in La Grande, Ore.
GAME 1
Eastern was able to get on the board first. A
Youhyeon Choi run came from a
Joey Freitas sacrifice hit. However, Bushnell was able to slowly add to their lead throughout the game. A big eighth inning where the Beacons scored five runs secured the lead to edge out the Mounties 10-1.
Slayder Watterson was able to toss in five strikeouts and only allowed four hits on the mound.

GAME 2
EOU was able to lock in defensively, with no errors holding BU at three runs, but unfortunately the Mounties couldn't find holes in the Bushnell defense.
Austin Gerding and
Rogelio Gonzales were responsible for the two lone Mountie hits in game two. The Beacons also took game two and the series with a 3-0 win.
Jaydon Yancey held his own on the mound, throwing six strikeouts, zero walks, and four errors.
