EOU Baseball Lands Four Academic All-District Honorees

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Four Eastern Oregon University baseball student-athletes earned recognition on the 2025-26 Academic All-District Team, College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced Tuesday morning. The honor recognizes student-athletes who have excelled both academically and athletically, with all selections maintaining at least a 3.5 GPA while competing in the majority of their team's games.

Representing the Mountaineers on this year's team are Alex Olague, Jayden Butler, Andrew Demianew, and Jace Schow.

In his final season, Olague was a staple in the Mountaineers' lineup, starting 37 of 40 games. He hit .362 with 54 hits, including six doubles and nine home runs, while scoring 27 runs and driving in 36. Olague also drew 15 walks, finishing with a .584 slugging percentage and a .418 on-base percentage. Defensively, he recorded 213 putouts and nine assists at first base, posting a .991 fielding percentage.

Butler, in his third season with the program, made 14 appearances on the mound, including nine starts. Over 39.2 innings pitched, he struck out 22 batters while limiting opponents to a .357 batting average.

In his first season at Eastern Oregon, Demianew appeared in 47 games and started 44. Across 188 at-bats, he collected 59 hits, including 15 doubles and two home runs, while scoring 29 runs and driving in 27. He also drew nine walks and was hit by four pitches, finishing the season with a .314 batting average, .436 slugging percentage, and .350 on-base percentage. In the outfield, Demianew tallied 94 putouts and three assists for a .980 fielding percentage.

Schow also made an immediate impact in his first season with the Mountaineers. The right-hander started all 12 of his appearances on the mound, logging 47.2 innings and striking out 31 batters while holding opponents to a .335 batting average. At the plate, Schow recorded 13 at-bats, scoring seven runs and driving in six while drawing three walks. He finished with a .308 batting average, .692 slugging percentage, and .438 on-base percentage.

The Academic All-District Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes across NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA institutions for their combined excellence in academics and athletics.

All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, with Olague selected as a finalist. Academic All-America selections will be announced June 23rd.
