CALDWELL, Idaho - Rounding out the weekend of preseason play The College of Idaho (13-7) took both games against Eastern Oregon (1-13) Sunday afternoon. Game one was a late game win for the Yotes grabbing most of their runs in the seventh inning and ultimately taking game one 6-3. Game two carried over their momentum at the plate. EOU rallied after going down four and grabbed three runs but a big fifth inning for the Yotes allowed them to take game two 11-3. The Mounties come back Tuesday March 14th to play the Whitman Blues at 2 p.m in La Grande.
GAME 1
The Mounties opened up game three of the series swinging. EOU went up 3-0 and held the lead until the seventh inning. College of Idaho then had a big seventh inning where they snagged four runs to put them on top and take the game 6-3. Youhyeon Choi went 1-3, with a double, RBI, and scored for the Mounties. Danny Burns had four strikeouts on the mound.Â

GAME 2Â
College of Idaho grabbed 14 hits to take game two 11-3 against the Mounties. EOU battled, grabbing a run in the second and third inning to close the gap but COI found a rhythm in the fifth inning that was just enough to edge out the Mounties. Rogelio Gonzales, Justin Frederick, and Garret Kollar each tallied a run for the Mounties. Garret Kollar earned a run off a solo shot in the seventh inning. Slayder Watterson had five strikeouts on the bump this afternoon.Â
