CALDWELL, Idaho- The Eastern Oregon Mountaineers (1-12) traveled over to I-84 rival College of Idaho (12-7) for more preseason play. The Mounties were able to find some rhythm at the plate, but it wasn't enough to edge out College of Idaho's four home runs on the day. The Yotes took game one in a 6-4 win. EOU came back and battled for game two, but a home run by the Yotes late in the game lead them to an 11-7 win. EOU wraps up the series against College of Idaho tomorrow at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. MT back at Wolfe field.
 
GAME 1
The Yotes went up early, snagging three runs in the first inning. Justin Duso, Joey Freitas, and Garret Kollar all had RBIs to bring the Mounties in and put EOU up heading into the seventh. College of Idaho then answered back by hitting two home runs in the bottom of the eighth to put them back on top and take game one 6-4. Alex Farnsworth had three strikeouts on the mound for the Mounties.

GAME 2 
Game two had a flipped story. EOU got on the board first and was up starting the second inning until the Yotes grabbed their third home run of the day to tie it up. College of Idaho then grabbed two more RBIs in the second to go up 4-2. EOU battled as they scored in the next four out of seven innings to keep the game close. They put up seven RBIs to bring in Mountie runs. Garret Kollar had a good day at the plate giving the Mounties two doubles and an RBI. College of Idaho then connected with another home run to put them back on top and held the Mounties to just one lone run after that. The Yotes were able to sweep the day, taking game two in an 11-7 win.
