EOU Men 8th, Women 20th in USTFCCCA Program of the Year Mid-Year Rankings

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Following the conclusion of the cross country and indoor track & field championship seasons, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has released its midyear standings for the Program of the Year awards. Eastern Oregon currently sits eighth in the NAIA men's rankings and 20th on the women's side.

In the Jack Hazen Men's Program of the Year standings, Eastern Oregon earned a No. 7 finish in cross country and a No. 17 mark in indoor track & field, combining for 24.5 points to place No.8 nationally. The Mountaineers also lead all Cascade Collegiate Conference programs, with Southern Oregon (No. 9), Trinity Western (No. 11), and College of Idaho (No. 24) trailing behind.

On the women's side, Eastern Oregon ranks 20th in the Fred Beile Women's Program of the Year standings. The Mountaineers posted a No. 22 finish in cross country and No. 43 in indoor track & field, totaling 68.5 points. Within the Cascade Collegiate Conference, Eastern Oregon sits third, behind College of Idaho (No. 12) and Southern Oregon (No. 16), while Lewis-Clark State follows at No. 23.

To qualify for the Program of the Year award, teams must compete at all three national championship events—cross country, indoor track & field, and outdoor track & field. Scoring is determined by team finishes at each championship, with lower point totals indicating better performance. Ties are broken by splitting placement points among teams.
With the outdoor season now underway, Eastern Oregon will look to improve its standing in both the men's and women's rankings.
