NEW ORLEANS, La. –
Justin Krabbenhoft added another accolade to his resume following a standout performance at the Lauren McCluskey Memorial Invite this past weekend, earning U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NAIA National Athlete of the Week honors, presented by MF-Athletic.
Krabbenhoft captured the heptathlon title with a total of 5,465 points, moving him to
No. 1 on the 2026 NAIA Indoor Track & Field performance list and
No. 4 on the NAIA all-time records list. The mark is the highest heptathlon score recorded in the NAIA since 2015.
He successfully defended his Lauren McCluskey Memorial Invite heptathlon title, improving his winning score by 325 points while recording personal bests in two of the seven events. Krabbenhoft also surpassed his previous heptathlon best of 5,225 points from 2025, a performance that earned him a third-place finish at the NAIA Indoor Championships.
The honor marks the first time an Eastern Oregon University athlete—male or female—has been named NAIA National Athlete of the Week during the indoor season.
