KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Eastern Oregon dropped both games of a doubleheader against Oregon Tech on Saturday afternoon, falling 10-4 in the opener and 9-1 in the nightcap at Steen Sports Park in Cascade Collegiate Conference play.
Game One: Oregon Tech 10, Eastern Oregon 4
The Owls built a 6-0 lead through five innings and responded to a Mountaineer rally with a four-run bottom of the eighth to secure the win. Tim Williams (4-0) threw seven scoreless innings, striking out nine without allowing a walk. Offensively, Julien Jones led the way with a three-run homer, while Tyler Horner went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Dane Bradshaw added a solo home run as part of Oregon Tech's 14-hit output.
Eastern Oregon put together a four-run eighth inning, highlighted by a three-RBI double from designated hitter Mario Landeros. Rogelio Gonzales went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Shane Sinclair (0-4) took the loss, allowing six runs over five innings.
Game Two: Oregon Tech 9, Eastern Oregon 1
Oregon Tech struck early again, scoring in four of the first five innings. Matthew Ortiz paced the offense, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, including a two-run double in the eighth. Bradshaw contributed two doubles and two RBI, while Korrey Siracusa scored twice and drove in one.
The Mountaineers out-hit their game-one total with nine hits but struggled to capitalize. Matt Carlson went 3-for-4 with Eastern Oregon's lone RBI on a fourth-inning double that scored Carson Gerding. Landeros added two more hits, and Trevor Baker reached base three times on a double and two walks.
Eastern Oregon will return to Steen Sports Park on Sunday for another doubleheader against the Owls, beginning at 11 a.m.
