LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University senior Tyler Jones has been named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Jones, a native of Richland, Wash., delivered a standout performance at the Northwest Nazarene Open, clearing 2.15 meters (7 feet, 0 ½ inches) in the high jump to claim first place. The leap hit the NAIA "A" Standard and currently ranks as the top mark in the NAIA this season. It also moved Jones to No. 2 all-time in the EOU record books.

In addition to his high jump title, Jones also competed in the javelin (35.69m) and shot put (11.46m) in Nampa.

This marks the second time this season that Jones has earned the CCC weekly honor.
