NEW ORLEANS - The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released the Week 7 edition of the NAIA Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Rating Indexes for the 2023 outdoor season. Eastern Oregon University had mixed results as the women's team rose to their highest rating yet while the men's team slid back a few spots. The women moved up to No. 8 nationally, their highest mark of the year, and remain at No. 3 in the West Region. On the men's side EOU slid back to No. 31 in the national ratings but remain at second in the West Region.
Eastern will enter the CCC Championships as one of the top teams in the nations, but will face some strong competition. On the women's side the conference is home to three of the nation's top teams including the best team in the nation, the University of British Columbia. As for the men, EOU will have to battle with No. 2 rated British Columbia and No. 18 rated Multnomah.

EVENT SQUAD RANKING METHODOLOGY
USTFCCCA Event Squad rankings place a rank order to a program's "squad" of athletes in a particular event, using the cumulative season-best qualifying marks from a team's top-four ranked athletes on the national descending-order list. As with the national descending-order list for qualifying and seeding purposes, marks are subject to be converted due to track size and/or altitude. A team must have four or more athletes with a valid season-best mark recorded with TFRRS to achieve a ranking in a particular event.
