CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference has announced that Tyler Jones has been named the Rize Laboratory CCC Field Athlete of the Week. Jones earned the honor for his performance at the first ever EOU Lew Thorne Invite hosted by Eastern Oregon on Saturday.
 
The sophomore out of Richland, Wash. put together a strong weekend in the high jump and triple jump. While he finished second in the triple jump with a jump of 12.79 meters, the highlight of the day came in the high jump. Jones cleared 2.02 meters winning the event while also earning a "B" Standard.
 
Next on the schedule for the Mounties is the Whitworth Invitational. The two-day meet hosted at The Podium in Spokane, Wash. will start at 11 a.m. on Friday.
