CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference announced its WVT Laboratory Players of the Week on Monday and Eastern Oregon once again had a student make the list.
Garnering the weekly honor from the CCC was
Allexander Kosel. He was tabbed the CCC Men's Field Athlete of the Week after being named the CCC Men's Athlete of the Meet last weekend at the conference championships.
Kosel was dominant last weekend as he alone produced 28 field points to help the Mounties win the CCC Men's Track and Field Championship, presented by U.S. Bank. He picked up two individual championships and grabbed three all-conference honors. Kosel won the triple jump with a mark of 14.80 meters and took first in the long jump with a 7.16-meter mark. He was also part of EOU's 4x400 relay team. His efforts helped him earn CCC Field Athlete of the Meet honors for the second straight year.
Going into the remainder of the week, Kosel is ranked in the top-15 in two events. He has hit A standard marks in both long jump and triple jump to punch his ticket to Outdoor Nationals. He ranks ninth in the triple jump with a mark of 48-6 ¾ and is 11th in the long jump at a mark of 23-10 ¼.
