Friday-Saturday, April 1-2

About the Meet
• The NNU Invite has been held annually every year since 2008. It has also been tabbed as the NNU Open.
• The meet will span over a two-day span and feature both the heptathlon and the decathlon. Day one will also feature a small amount of regular track & field events.
• Outside of the multi-events, the first day will feature the 10,000-meter run on the track. Two field events will take place in the javelin and hammer throw.
• Day two action will feature the standard events, but there will be no prelims or finals on either the track or the field.
• At the time of release, the 3,000-meter steeplechase is tentatively set to be on the schedule for day two. Should water not be available, NNU will remove the event.
• The day two schedule will be a running schedule with action getting underway at 10 a.m. PT/11 a.m. MT.
• There will be no livestream available for the two-day event. Live results will be available both days and can be accessed by clicking the respective link above.

Last Time Out - Lewis & Clark Spring Break Open
• In their first meet of the outdoor season, the Mounties tallied 13 event wins at the Lewis & Clark Spring Break Open.
• Highlighting the efforts for EOU was pole vaulter Darrian Walker who won the event and hit an NAIA A standard to automatically qualify for the Outdoor National Championships.
• Walker cleared the bar at 15-9 ¼ which is currently tied for first in the NAIA entering the weekend.
• Also having a solid start to the outdoor season was Maggie Ledbetter. She hit B standard marks in both the hammer throw and shot put en route to winning both.
• Also hitting an NAIA qualifying mark was Moses McAninch in the javelin. He won the event and hit a B standard mark … Read more.

CCC Athlete of the Week
• Pole Vaulter Darrian Walker was tabbed the CCC Men's Field Athlete of the Week back on March 21 after his performance at the Lewis & Clark Spring Break Open.
• Walker was the event winner in the pole vault with an NAIA A standard mark of 15-9 ¼. His mark is tied for first in the NAIA and is fifth highest in program history for the outdoor season.

What to Watch For This Weekend
• Look for the Mountaineers to get their multi-event athletes to compete and potentially post NAIA qualifying marks.
• Like most meets Eastern has competed at this year, the NNU Invite will feature teams across the NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA level.
• Although the meet will be two days, there will not be prelims and finals for any events.
• Only three Mountaineers have hit NAIA qualifying marks across four events so far this outdoor season. This weekend may see more added to the list early on in the outdoor season.
• This will also be the first outdoor meet for the Mounties in the month of April after having last weekend off due to Spring Break at EOU.
• This is also the first of four meets in April for EOU. The team will look to establish not only NAIA qualifying marks, but also qualifying marks for the CCC Outdoor Championships in mid May.

Up Next
• Following the NNU Invite, EOU will head north to Spokane, Wash. for the Whitworth Peace Meet next weekend. The meet will be held Friday, April 8 and will run just one day.
