KANSAS CITY, Mo. –
Elizabeth Grandle added another accolade to her standout week, being named
NAIA Women's Outdoor National Field Athlete of the Week, announced Wednesday morning by the national office.
The senior delivered an exceptional performance at the CCC Multi-Event Championships, capturing the heptathlon title and conference championship in dominant fashion, finishing 763 points clear of the runner-up. In the process, she broke both the meet and school records, continuing to elevate her legacy.
She recorded first-place finishes in five of the seven events
– 100m hurdles, high jump, shot put, 200m, and javelin
– and achieved an "A" standard in the javelin, where she is currently ranked seventh in the nation. Her total of 5,160 points in the heptathlon also leads all NAIA competitors this season by an impressive 300-point margin.
Grandle and Eastern Oregon Track & Field will return to action this weekend at the Boise State Twilight meet.
