ASHLAND, Ore. - No. 14 Eastern Oregon Volleyball pushed its win streak to seven in a row with a 3-1 road win Saturday night against Southern Oregon University (25-19, 19-25, 25-21, 25-13). With the win, the Mountaineers improve to 13-4 overall and 8-1 in CCC play.
How it Happened
• Both squads hit under .200 for the night with EOU having the edge at .171-.119. Other than a 487-47 tie in kills, EOU led in every major statistical category over Southern (7-7, 2-7 CCC) to win in four sets.
• In the first frame, SOU had the edge in kills at 16-13, but an 8-2 run midway through the set allowed the Mountaineers to create some space to secure the six-point win.
The Raiders led 4-1 to start the opening set but EOU closed the gap at 4-4 and went ahead 6-5 before the two squads traded the tie and the lead.
• Knotted at 9-all, Eastern found a rhythm and outscored the Raiders 8-2 to go ahead 17-11. Southern looked to battle back into the set, but was held mostly at bay as the Mountaineers took the first set, 25-19.
• In the second set, it was EOU that grabbed the early lead at 4-1 before Southern battled back to tie the match at 8-8. The Raiders then went on a 7-0 run that gave them a commanding 15-8 lead. The Mountaineers were unable to respond until late.
• Trailing 22-12, eastern was able to score three straight to get within seven and force an SOU timeout. The Raiders went ahead 24-16 before EOU scored three straight again to force another timeout. Southern then closed out the set at 25-19 to tie the match at 1-1.
• Early on in the third set, the Raider managed to create some space sledding 9-5 but the mountaineers chipped away at the lead to eventually tie the set at 10-all. The Raiders went ahead 13-11 before a 5-0 run by EOU gave them a 16-13 lead at the midway point.
• The Mountaineers never relinquished the lead from that point on and took the third frame by a final of 25-21 to go back in front 2-1 overall.
• Eastern owned the fourth set as they outscored SOU 11-1 to start the match and never looked back. The Mountaineers led by as much as 12, 18-6, before cruising to a 25-13 win to close out the frame and the match in four sets.
Mountaineers Stat Leaders

Cambree Scott led the EOU offense with 10 kills and added four blocks on defense.

Sade Williams hit .250 in the win and tallied nine kills to go along with 10 digs.
•
Madison Morgan also had nine kills in the win and had five blocks.
•
Jet Taylor racked up a team best six blocks in the win and chipped in four kills.
•
Alexis McMurtrey dished out a match best 24 assists, while
Hannah Ledgerwood added 17.

Hailey Arritola led the back row with 13 digs, while
Breanna Shaffer had 12.
For the Raiders
• Hailey Van Well led all players with 15 kills on the night and tallied three blocks.
• Simone Gordon also tallied double-digit kills with 11.
• Taylor Russell dished out a match high 22 assists and was one dig shy of a double-double with nine.
• Hannah Randall had 19 assists in the loss and 11 digs for a double-double
• Sadie Byrd led all players with seven blocks in the loss.
• Kadyn Jones paced the back row with a match best 22 digs.
