LA GRANDE, Ore. — Mountie Athletics has another busy week ahead, with five sports in action across La Grande and on the road. From a suspended men's soccer match and a top-five volleyball showdown to Gold Night, conference competition and fall schedule action, there is plenty to look forward to this week.
Tuesday, September 29
(RV) Men's Soccer will resume its suspended match against Walla Walla on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Community Stadium. The match was suspended nearly six minutes into play last week due to weather conditions. The Mountaineers enter the week with a 1-1-4 overall record and a 1-0-2 mark in CCC play, coming off a pair of draws last week against Corban, 2-2, and Bushnell, 0-0.
Wednesday, September 30
No. 1 Volleyball will host No. 4 College of Idaho in a highly anticipated midweek matchup at 7 p.m. in Quinn Coliseum. The Mountaineers and Yotes are the only two undefeated teams remaining in Cascade Conference play, with EOU bringing a 19-0 overall and 8-0 conference record into the matchup, while CI enters at 15-0 overall and 8-0 in CCC play.
The match marks the end of the first half of conference competition, with both teams putting their undefeated records on the line as they battle for the top spot in the conference standings heading into the second half of the season. EOU holds a 27-16 all-time record against the Yotes since the early 2000s and swept the season series last year.

Friday, October 2
(RV) Women's Soccer will host No. 9 College of Idaho at 4 p.m. in Community Stadium. The Mountaineers enter the matchup at 7-2-1 overall and 3-1 in CCC play after a 2-0 shutout win over Corban and a 4-2 loss to Bushnell last week. EOU holds a 5-13-4 all-time record against the Yotes, having fallen in the last seven meetings, including a 1-0 double-overtime loss in last year's CCC Tournament Championship game.
(RV) Men's Soccer will follow at 6:30 p.m., also taking on College of Idaho. The Yotes enter the matchup at 0-3-5 overall and 0-0-4 in conference play after recording 1-1 draws against both Corban and Bushnell last weekend. The Mountaineers hold a 5-4-2 all-time record against CI and have won the last two meetings, including a 2-1 road victory last season.

Baseball will also take the field Friday for a Fall Schedule scrimmage, hosting Columbia Basin Community College at 3 p.m. at Optimist Field for a fall schedule matchup.
Saturday, October 3
No. 25 Men's Cross Country and No. 22 Women's Cross Country will travel to Salem, Oregon, to compete in the Willamette Charles Bowles Invitational. The meet marks the second competition of the season for both teams after the Mountaineer men placed fourth and the women fifth at the NNU Invite two weeks ago.
No.1 Volleyball will open the second half of CCC competition on the road, traveling to Portland, Oregon, to face Warner Pacific at 4 p.m. The Knights enter at 0-9 overall and 0-8 in conference play. EOU holds a 43-8 all-time record against Warner Pacific and has not lost to the Knights since a five-set road match in 2006.
Softball will also compete in fall schedule action, hosting Treasure Valley Community College for games at 10 a.m. and noon before facing Northwest Athletics Burke at 3:30 and 5:30 p.m.
