ERCK Hotels Frontier Conference Defensive Player of the Week and volleyball's
Brooke Womack earning
Cascade Collegiate Conference Attacker of the Week honors.
Football Defensive Player of the Week
Junior defensive back
Monte Pettichord of Waitsburg, Washington, earned his first Frontier Conference Player of the Week honor following a standout defensive performance in Eastern Oregon's 46-39 road victory over Valley City State University this past weekend in the first of two division crossover matchups.
Pettichord recorded nine tackles, including six solo stops and three assists, while also adding a pass breakup. His biggest play came during VCSU's second drive of the game, when he intercepted a pass and returned it 35 yards for a touchdown, giving the Mountaineers their first points of the game.
The pick-six highlighted a strong defensive effort that helped Eastern Oregon secure its second road victory of the season.
Pettichord and the Mounties return to La Grande this weekend to host Montana State-Northern in the second division crossover matchup at Community Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. PT.
Volleyball Attacker of the Week
Senior outside hitter
Brooke Womack of Sandy, Oregon, delivered another standout weekend, leading an all-around effort in Eastern Oregon's wins over (RV) Bushnell and No. 6 Corban.
Womack totaled 28 kills, 37 digs, four service aces and three block assists while hitting .338 across eight sets. She recorded a double-double in each match, finishing with 10 kills and 19 digs against the Beacons before posting 18 kills and 18 digs against the Warriors.
The honor marks Womack's second consecutive weekly award and third overall this season.
Womack and the Mountaineers return to Quinn Coliseum this weekend, hosting No. 11 Lewis-Clark State College on Friday at 6 p.m. before welcoming Walla Walla University on Saturday at 8 p.m. PT.
