Softball - Player
Hope Burke, a senior outfielder from Springfield, Ore., turned in an outstanding performance at the plate during a four-game series against RV University of British Columbia. Making the most of her 10 at-bats, Burke recorded six hits, including two home runs, and drove in seven runs for an impressive .600 batting average on the weekend.
She also reached base four additional times via three walks and a hit-by-pitch, scored five runs, and posted a .715 on-base percentage. Burke capped off her dominant showing with a 1.200 slugging percentage.
This marks Burke's second Player of the Week honor of her career, both coming this season.
Men's Outdoor Track & Field - Field Athlete
Mark Church, a senior from Fruitland, Idaho, delivered three strong performances at the NNU Open last weekend. He opened the meet by winning the hammer throw against a field of 29 athletes with a mark of 57.36 meters, meeting the NAIA "B" standard and ranking No. 8 nationally.
Church also placed fifth out of 21 competitors in the shot put with a throw of 14.76 meters and finished fourth among 28 athletes in the discus with a mark of 46.24 meters.
