CORVALLIS, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University Athletics had four student-athletes earn Cascade Collegiate Conference McDonald's Player of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network, across three sports.
In baseball,
Easton Corey was named Baseball Pitcher of the Week, while
Hope Burke earned Softball Player of the Week honors. On the track,
Nick Robinson was selected as Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, and
Stephen Pittman was named Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Baseball – Pitcher
Easton Corey, a junior from Pendleton, Ore., delivered a dominant performance on the mound against Warner Pacific University, leading the Mounties to a 2-0 shutout victory in game one. Corey allowed just two hits across seven innings without issuing a walk and struck out nine batters. He finished the outing with a 0.00 ERA and a 0.29 WHIP.
Softball – Player
Hope Burke, a senior outfielder from Springfield, Ore., turned in an outstanding performance across four games this week, making the most of her 15 plate appearances. She recorded seven hits in 14 at-bats for a .500 batting average, while posting a .563 on-base percentage and an impressive .929 slugging percentage.
Burke scored four runs and drove in eight RBIs, highlighted by two home runs and 13 total bases. She also showed excellent plate discipline with two walks, helping the Mounties secure a series sweep. Defensively, Burke held a perfect fielding percentage to cap off her impressive weekend.
Men's Outdoor Track & Field – Track Athlete
Nick Robinson, a sophomore runner from Marysville, Wash., had a standout showing at the Gary Feasel Open. He claimed first place in the 100m with a time of 10.77 and the 200m with a time of 22.08, both times currently leading the conference.
Men's Outdoor Track & Field – Field Athlete
Stephen Pittman, a junior from Goldendale, Wash., won the pole vault at the Gary Feasel Open. He recorded a mark of 4.80m. The mark reached the NAIA 'B' Standard in the first outdoor meet of the season and currently leads the conference.
