LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon had four student-athletes earn Cascade Collegiate Conference Player of the Week honors, the league announced Monday. Kylie Parsons, Mark Church, Skotlyn Hill, and Adrienne Washington were each recognized for their standout performances over the last weekend.
Softball – Pitcher of the Week
No. 14-ranked Eastern Oregon's Kylie Parsons was named the CCC Softball Pitcher of the Week after a dominant showing in the Mountaineers' series sweep over the University of British Columbia. The senior from Pendleton, Ore., did not allow a run or a walk across two shutout victories, recording 15 strikeouts over 13 innings while surrendering just five hits. Parsons finished the week with a perfect 0.00 ERA and a 0.38 WHIP.
Men's Outdoor Track & Field – Field Athlete of the Week
EOU junior Mark Church earned CCC Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week honors following a strong performance at the Nighthawks Opener. The Fruitland, Idaho, native took first place out of 26 competitors in the discus with a throw of 49.57 meters, reaching the NAIA "B" Standard.
Women's Outdoor Track & Field – Track Athlete of the Week
Senior Skotlyn Hill was named the CCC Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week after securing a victory in the 400m hurdles at the Nighthawks Opener. The Logandale, Nev., product hit the NAIA "B" Standard with a winning time of 1:02.86.
Women's Outdoor Track & Field – Field Athlete of the Week
Senior Adrienne Washington put together a dominant performance at the Nighthawks Opener to earn CCC Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week honors. The Lewiston, Idaho, native claimed first place in the high jump with an NAIA "B" Standard mark of 1.67 meters, finished second in the javelin at 37.61 meters, and placed ninth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 20.13.
