LA GRANDE, Ore. – After two seasons at the helm of EOU baseball, Head Coach Kyle Treadway has resigned, accepting a position as the pitching coach for NCAA Division I program, Utah Valley University.
"I am thankful for the time I spent as a member of the EOU athletics family," Treadway said. "I appreciate how the community embraced my family and I, and I learned a lot during my time as a Mountie!"
Treadway's departure marks the end of his tenure with the Mountaineers, effective immediately.
"I would like to thank Kyle for his dedication to EOU baseball for the past two years. Kyle was able to recruit the type of student-athlete we look for at EOU – those who excel on the field, in the classroom and who are positive role models in the community," said EOU Athletic Director Anji Weissenfluh. "We wish Kyle the best as he begins this next chapter. A national search will start immediately for our next head coach."
Treadway led the Mountaineers to new heights since the program's reinstatement. He led EOU to it's highest single-season win total since the program's rebirth with 16 in 2024. Treadway will leave EOU totaling 19 wins across two seasons.
"I would like to thank Anji for the opportunity and support during my time as head coach. I wish the baseball program good luck as it continues to build," Treadway added.
Treadway was the program's second head coach since it's reinstatement in 2021. EOU will commence a national search for the program's next head coach immediately. The university is committed to finding a candidate who will continue to build on the program's successes and lead the team to new heights.
