MARION, Ind. – Eastern Oregon wrapped up the season on Friday, competing in their final three competitions of the 2024 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships.
As for team scores, the men's team finished 15th overall with a total of 18 points, while the women's team was awarded a point for Elizabeth Grandle's finish in the women's heptathlon.
Hunter Nichols and Justin Ash kicked things off in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase finals. Setting a new personal record and advancing to third in the EOU record books with a time of 9:07.08 seconds, Nichols secured fourth place while earning the title of NAIA All-American. Ash would finish 11th with a time of 9:22.33 seconds.
In the competitive women's high jump event, both Adrienne Washington and Elizabeth Grandle placed 14th and 16th coming off two days of Heptathlon competition. Washington climbed to third in the EOU records with a leap of 1.68 meters, while Grandle finished with a mark of 1.65 meters.
Tanner Nett secured the 18th position in the men's shot put event. Fouling his first and third attempts, Nett managed to achieve a distance of 16.04 meters on his second throw.
In total, the Mounties had 4 athletes earn All-American honors over the three day event:
