MONMOUTH, Ore.- Wrapping up the weekend, the Eastern Oregon Mountaineers dropped both games to the Western Oregon Wolves. Game one was close until the Wolves' bats got hot to take the game 12-4. WOU continued their momentum into game two and took that game in seven innings with a 9-0 win. The Mounties will return on March 3rd and host Lewis-Clark State in La Grande for their first home games of the season.
GAME 1
EOU tallied nine hits but it wasn't enough to outscore WOU in game one of the final day of the series.
Elliott Marks gave the Mounties momentum by going 2-5 at the plate with two RBIs, but the Wolves battled, scoring most of their runs in the later innings. The Mounties scored two in the seventh, but it wasn't enough to throw the game into extra innings for a comeback. Western's Dylan Chalmers tossed six strikeouts while keeping the Mounties in check.
