LA GRANDE, Ore. - No. 14 Eastern Oregon University Volleyball has a quick turnaround following this past weekend's success. The Mountaineers are back in action tomorrow night, Tuesday, Sept. 14 against a longtime rival.

• EOU plays its first of two Tuesday games this season as they battle longtime rival and travel partner College of Idaho.
• EOU will look to pick up its first true road win of the season after playing its last four matches at home.

• The Mountaineers closed out their four-game homestand to start conference play by going 3-1 inside Quinn Coliseum.
• Two of the three wins at home for EOU came in sweeping fashion, while the other was done in four sets.Â
• Eastern will now play its next five games on the road. Dating back to the 2019 regular season, EOU has won each of its last 11 road contests.
• EOU has currently won each of its last six matchups against C of I, including the last three on the Yotes home court.

Last Time Out
• The Mountaineers posted a pair of 3-0 wins this past weekend to end a four-game homestand on a high note. The Mounties picked up sweeps against Walla Walla and LC State to start 3-1 at home.
• Against the Wolves, Eastern hit a season best .333 in the win and tallied 36 kills in the win.
Jet Taylor led the way with nine kills and hit a career best .615.
• Against the Warriors, the Mounties hit at a clip of .254 and had 42 kills in what was a hard fought 3-0 sweep. 11 kills by
Breanna Shaffer led the way for EOU in the victory.

• The Mountaineers have won each of the last six matchups against the Yotes including each of the last three in Caldwell.
• In three matches last year, EOU posted sweeps in two of them. The Yotes gave EOU a scare in one contest going to five sets in what was the Mountaineers home opener.
• The last time the Yotes defeated the Mountaineers was back in 2018. Since 2009, EOU is 16-15 against C of I.
EOU in the Polls
• In the first NAIA Volleyball Coaches' Top-25 poll, the Mountaineers fell eight spots from No. 6 to No. 14 after starting the year 2-2. This is the first time they are ranked outside the top-10 since the end of the 2019 season when they finished at No. 13.
• In the CCC preseason poll, Eastern was picked to win the conference ahead of Corban and Southern Oregon. The Mountaineers tallied eight first place votes and totaled 140 points.
• The next set of NAIA top-25 rankings will be released next Wednesday, Sept. 15.
Three's Company
• Of Mountaineers' 12 matches so far this season, nine have ended in straight sets.
• EOU has fared well in three-set matches with a 7-2 record.
• The only 3-0 losses for EOU have come against ranked opponents in Bellevue (Neb.) and Corban.

Scouting the Competition
College of Idaho Coyotes
• C of I enters the Tuesday tilt four games below .500 at 4-8 overall and is 1-3 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play.
• The lone CCC win for the Yotes came on Saturday with a 3-0 sweep of Walla Walla University. They also have non-conference wins over Saint Katherine, Benedictine Mesa, and Montana Western.
• On offense, C of I is hitting at a clip of .178 so far and is averaging 12.2 kills per set. They have tallied 484 total assists for an average of 11.8 and have 72 service aces thus far.
• Defensively, the Yotes have allowed opponents to hit .182 against them, but they have been limited to just 11.7 kills per set. They have tallied 75.5 total blocks and average 1.8 per set.
• Emily Vandenburg leads the way on offense for the Yotes with 101 total kills and is averaging 2.53 per set. She also has eight service aces on the year.
• Leyah de Souza is second in kills at 93 and averages just over 2.0 per set at 2.27. Danielle Neuman is third in kills averaging 2.18 per set and has 74 on the year.
• Pacing the offense in terms of flow is Sidney Firth who has 233 assists this season and average 5.68 per set. Sydnee Steel has 169 assists and averages 4.23 per set to rank second.
• Up front, Cameron Wallace leads the way in total blocks with 28.0. She averages 1.00 per set, with 25 of her blocks coming on an assisted effort.
• Jade Warren and Neuman are second and third, respectively, in blocks. Warren has 23.0, followed by Neuman with 22.0.
• Also in double figures with blocks ate de Souza with 20.0 and Brenna Hawkins with 13.0.
• Isabelle Combs leads the back row in digs with 161 on the year. She averages 4.88 per set.Â
• Steel is also the team leader in service aces with 11. Austyn Mauzy is second with 11, followed by Combs with 10.
