CORVALLIS, Ore. – Eastern Oregon Softball standout Kelly Monaghan was selected as the Cascade Collegiate Conference Softball McDonald's Player of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network, announced Monday afternoon. 

Monaghan, a senior outfielder from Battle Ground, Washington, delivered an outstanding performance at the plate during Eastern Oregon's four-game series sweep of Bushnell University over the weekend. She recorded five hits in eight at-bats, driving in seven runs while posting a blistering .625 batting average.

Her weekend was highlighted in the series opener, when Monaghan launched a two-run home run to close out a five-inning run-rule victory for the Mountaineers. She continued to produce throughout the series, including a clutch three-RBI double in the finale that helped secure the sweep.

Monaghan also showed patience and discipline at the plate, drawing two walks to finish the weekend with a .636 on-base percentage.

Defensively, the center fielder anchored the outfield with four putouts and a flawless fielding performance, committing no errors while helping limit Bushnell's opportunities.

The honor marks the first Cascade Collegiate Conference Player of the Week award of Monaghan's career.
