Eastern Oregon Softball Claim First-Ever No. 1 Ranking in NAIA Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the first time in program history, Eastern Oregon University has climbed to No. 1 in the NAIA Top 25 Poll, overtaking previously top-ranked Southern Oregon.

The Mountaineers secured the top spot with four first-place votes and 423 total points. The ranking follows an impressive stretch in which Eastern Oregon swept two series—four games in total—since the last poll. They now sit at 19-3 overall and 8-1 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play.

Eastern continues to dominate as a team, ranking third nationally in RBIs (171) and walks (103), while sitting fifth in on-base percentage (.458). They have also scored the second-most runs in the country with 191, underscoring their consistent offensive production.

Individually, Lexi Grumboi leads the conference with an impressive .492 batting average, while also ranking third in RBIs (27) and fourth in home runs (5). Allison Baumgart adds to the offensive strength, sitting fourth in the conference with a .444 batting average, and Raygun Klippert brings speed to the lineup as the conference leader with 20 stolen bases.

In the circle, Camille Schmitz has been outstanding, ranking second with a 1.11 ERA. Maliyah Mann complements the pitching staff with a strong all-around performance, placing second in wins (10) and fifth in strikeouts (57).

The Cascade Collegiate Conference is well represented at the top of the rankings, holding the top three positions. Oregon Tech moved up two spots to No. 2 with two first-place votes and 417 points, while Southern Oregon dropped to No. 3 despite earning five first-place votes and 415 points. Two additional conference teams also received votes: British Columbia (54) and College of Idaho (26).

Eastern Oregon returns to conference action this weekend, hosting The College of Idaho in a series that begins Friday, March 20, at 2 p.m.
