KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Eastern Oregon University continued to receive national recognition in the latest NAIA Women's Wrestling Poll, earning 21 votes in the rankings released Thursday morning by the national office.
Following strong performances in recent duals and tournaments,
Veil Foreman and
Sitlaly Macias remained ranked individually, while three Mountaineers reentered the poll.
At 138 pounds, Macias checked in at No. 20 with seven points. Foreman moved to No. 12 at 145 pounds with 27 points after runner-up finishes at both the Warrior Open and the Mountaineer Open.
Gloria Diaz returned to the rankings at No. 18 at 117 pounds after earning runner-up finishes at the Evergreen Open and the Warrior Open. Diaz also placed sixth at the Mountaineer Open, despite an injury that prevented her from competing in later matches.
Telsarina Walter also jumped back into the poll, moving up to No. 20 at 110 pounds following a championship performance at the Mountaineer Open.
Freshman
Isabella Coronado made her first appearance in the rankings, debuting at No. 19 at 117 pounds after a second-place finish at the Evergreen Open and a third-place showing at the Mountaineer Open.
The Cascade Conference was represented in the poll, with Providence ranked No.3, Southern Oregon No.9, and Evergreen No.18, while Westcliff also received votes (11).
