KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Eastern Oregon University Softball has earned national recognition, securing the #14 ranking in the latest NAIA Softball Coaches' Poll.
This achievement comes after a standout performance in which the Mountaineers secured two wins in a four-game series against the #2 ranked Oregon Tech Owls. Also earning national recognition from the Cascade Collegiate Conference is top-ranked Southern Oregon.
The NAIA Softball Coaches' Top 25 Rankings are determined by a panel of head coaches representing various conferences. The rankings use a meticulous points system, where each coach's vote contributes to a team's overall score. Teams receive 30 points for a first-place vote, 29 for second place, and so on. To ensure fairness, the highest and lowest rankings for each team are discarded. Additionally, teams earn one extra point for each ballot they appear on, further refining the rankings.
With a current 3-3 record against top-ranked opponents, the Mountaineers are looking to build on their momentum as they prepare for upcoming games on March 7 and 8 against Corban University.
