REDDING, Calif. – Eastern Oregon University women's wrestling secured a third-place finish at the Cascade Collegiate Conference Women's Wrestling Championship, presented by U.S. Bank, on Saturday. The Mountaineers tallied 98 total points, trailing Southern Oregon (166.5) and the University of Providence (162.5). (RV) The Evergreen State College placed fourth with 74 points, followed by Westcliff University (47.5) and Simpson University (30).
EOU was also recognized for its character and integrity on the mat, earning the CCC Team Sportsmanship Award.
Eastern Oregon's Liv Wieber claimed the CCC Championship at 145 pounds. After receiving a bye in the opening round, Wieber secured a narrow 2-1 decision in the semifinals before capping off her tournament run with a pin in the championship bout. With the victory, Wieber becomes the first Mountaineer to win the conference championship since Erin Redford in 2023.

EOU will send six qualifiers to the NAIA Women's Wrestling National Championship, set for March 14-15 in Park City, Kansas. The qualifiers include:
A 12-member selection committee will finalize the remaining at-large qualifiers, with a full list of 210 national qualifiers to be released on Tuesday, March 4, by 5 p.m. CST. Seeding and preliminary brackets will be announced on NAIA.org on Friday, March 7, at 5 p.m. CST.
The Mountaineers now set their sights on the NAIA Women's Wrestling National Championship, where they will compete against the nation's best in pursuit of All-American honors and a strong team finish.
