LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University track and field delivered a standout performance at the Lew Thorne Invite on Saturday, hosted at the EOU Fieldhouse. The Mountaineers secured multiple NAIA national qualifying marks, including three "A" standards, six "B" standards, and sixteen total first-place finishes.
Several times below are prior to the EOU Fieldhouse's conversion to NAIA regulation.
Tanner Nett claimed an "A" standard with his throw of 17.04 meters in the men's shot put event. The mark not only ranks as the fourth-best throw in the NAIA this season but also improved his own school record by one centimeter.
Tyler Jones continued his dominance in the high jump, once again clearing 2.06 meters to meet the NAIA "A" standard.
The men's 4x400-meter team of Reuben Manzer, Maxximus Richmond, James Connally, and Osman Osman clocked in at 3:20.68 to hit the NAIA "A" standard. With today's impressive time, the group now stands at No. 4 in the program record books.
On the women's side, Adrienne Washington punched her ticket to nationals with an NAIA "B" standard mark of 5.60 meters in the long jump. Riley Morris also hit the "B" standard in the women's 1,000 meters, clocking in at 3:02.25. Skotlyn Hill secured an NAIA "B" mark once again in the 600 meters with a time of 1:37.46. The women's 4x400-meter relay team of Sara McKen, Sydney Peck, Skotlyn Hill, and Nora Roscoe hit the NAIA "B" standard for the second time this season, finishing in 4:00.44.
For the men, Maxximus Richmond (600m, 1:21.87) and Logan Hayes (1,000m, 2:31.45) each hit the NAIA "B" standard, adding to the Mountaineers' strong mid-distance showing.
The Mountaineers will look to maintain this momentum as they prepare for next weekend's Last Chance Invite, also hosted by Eastern Oregon at the EOU Fieldhouse.
