GREENWOOD, Ind. – Ten Eastern Oregon University student-athletes have been named to the
2025-26 Academic All-District At-Large Teams, as announced Tuesday by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).
The Academic All-District honor recognizes student-athletes for their achievements both in competition and in the classroom. To be eligible, nominees must maintain at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA while competing in the majority of their team's contests, or have wrestled in the conference tournament.
Eastern Oregon's men's contingent featured six Mountaineer wrestlers:
Braden Carson,
Kai Carson,
Nico Rodriguez,
Jackson Eylar,
John Rudebaugh, and
Eric Karas.
Braden Carson posted a 19-11 overall record, finishing as the conference runner-up to earn All-CCC honors and an automatic berth to the national championships.
Kai Carson compiled a 22-8 record, placing fifth at the conference tournament and securing an at-large bid to the national tournament. Rodriguez finished the season 30-11, earning a third-place finish at the conference championships, All-CCC recognition, and an automatic national championship berth. He went on to place seventh nationally and earn All-American honors. Eylar concluded the season with a 12-11 record and an eighth-place finish at the conference tournament. Rudebaugh posted a 17-15 record and placed fifth at the conference championships, while Karas finished 4-7 overall and went a perfect 3-0 in dual competition.
On the women's side, Eastern Oregon was represented by wrestlers
Kiona Michel and
Telsarina Walter, along with lacrosse standouts
Natanya Reed and
Omdiderngul Skebong.
Michel finished the season with a 19-13 record, placing third at the conference tournament to earn All-CCC honors and an automatic bid to the national championships. Walter posted a 19-8 mark and earned a fifth-place finish at the conference tournament.
Reed played a pivotal role for the Mountaineers, starting all 10 games in the midfield. She contributed on both ends of the field, recording two goals, seven shots on goal, 16 ground balls, 11 draw controls, and four caused turnovers. Skebong also played a key defensive role, starting eight of the nine games she appeared in while recording three caused turnovers.
The Academic All-District Teams are selected by the College Sports Communicators to recognize the nation's top student-athletes across four divisions—NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA—for their combined academic and athletic excellence.
