Eastern Oregon Women's Basketball Rolls Past Walla Walla, 72-54

LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon used a strong start and balanced scoring to secure a 72-54 victory over Walla Walla in Cascade Collegiate Conference play on Friday morning.

The Mountaineers (15-7, 11-6 CCC) jumped out to a 22-10 lead after the first quarter and never looked back, holding the Wolves (7-16, 4-13 CCC) to just 35.3% shooting from the field.

Kelsie Siegner led Eastern Oregon with 13 points, nine rebounds, and three assists while knocking down all three of her attempts from beyond the arc. Kali Kast added eight points off the bench, and Brie Holecek grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds. The Mountaineers' bench played a crucial role, outscoring Walla Walla's reserves 37-14.

Mireyah Lopez paced the Wolves with 13 points and four rebounds, while Natalee Trevino contributed 12 points and six rebounds. Jaylo Bello chipped in 10 points, hitting three of her six attempts from deep.

Eastern Oregon controlled the paint, outscoring Walla Walla 32-14 down low and converting 19 points off turnovers.

The Mountaineers return to action on Saturday, hosting Lewis-Clark State in a key conference matchup at Quinn Coliseum. Tip-off is set for 3:00 p.m.
