LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon had a standout day at the EOU Last Chance Invite, with multiple athletes securing NAIA Indoor National Championship qualifications at the EOU Fieldhouse on Saturday.
In the field events, Adrienne Washington secured an "A" Standard in the women's high jump, breaking the school record with a mark of 1.74m (5-08.50) to punch her ticket to the national stage. Washington surpassed the previous mark of 1.71m, set by Harley McBride, a height she tied earlier this season.
Maxximus Richmond delivered a stellar performance in the men's 600m, hitting the NAIA "A" Standard with a personal-best time of 1:21.31.
Several Mountaineers met the "B" Standard, keeping their national hopes alive. Osman Osman clocked 49.78 in the men's 400m, while Justin Ash posted a season-best 8:34.10 in the men's 3000m. In the men's shot put, Tanner Nett recorded a mark of 16.01m (52-06.50).
The women's long jump saw two Mountaineers reach the "B" Standard, with Lizzy Grandle jumping 5.66m (18-07.00) and Adrienne Washington following closely at 5.65m (18-06.50). Meanwhile, in the men's heptathlon, Tyler Jones finished with 4,929 points, currently ranking No. 7 in the nation, while Judson Mansfield followed in second with a total of 4,621 points, ranking No. 21 nationally.
