INDEPENDENCE, Ore. – The No. 16-ranked Eastern Oregon University women's cross country team delivered a strong performance on Friday morning at the 2025 Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships, placing third overall behind a pair of top-20 opponents — No. 5 College of Idaho and No. 18 Southern Oregon.
The Mountaineers totaled 102 team points, earning a podium finish in one of the NAIA's most competitive conference meets. The field featured several nationally ranked programs, including No. 23 Lewis-Clark State, RV Oregon Tech, and RV Corban, all of which trailed EOU in the final standings.
Riley Morris led the way with a fifth-place finish at 22:06.0, while
Kaleah Hines joined her in the top ten, placing ninth in 22:27.4 as the duo earned All-CCC recognition.
Mattie Woodbury followed in 25th (23:19.7) to help solidify the team's scoring, with
Kiah Carlson (29th, 23:32.9) and
Taylor Redick (35th, 24:03.5) rounding out the top five for the Mounties. Depth once again proved valuable, as
Sadie McCoy (39th, 24:19.5),
Kennedy Taylor (44th, 24:37.4),
Jaiden Cochran (51st, 24:53.7),
Lauren Hruschka (62nd, 25:29.5), and
Ashley Treadwell (70th, 25:53.1) all turned in solid efforts.
Eastern Oregon showed composure and consistency throughout the race, turning a demanding day into a rewarding team result.
With the podium finish, the Mountaineers now turn their focus to the NAIA National Championships, with official selections set for Tuesday, November 11 at 4 p.m. CT. Already among the nation's top talent, EOU looks to push even further through the postseason.
