CORVALLIS, Ore. – Eastern Oregon cross country seniors Riley Morris and Thomas Ogden have been named the Cascade Collegiate Conference McDonald's Runners of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network, for their impressive performances at the LC State Invitational on Saturday.

Morris (Burns, Ore.) finished eighth out of 87 total finishers in Lewiston, trailing only NCAA Division I opponents. She has been the first Mountaineer woman to cross the finish line in every race so far this season, and placed ahead of all NAIA runners this past weekend by 20 seconds or more.

Her time of 17:24 at LCSC ranks second in EOU history for the 5k, and she ran a 38-second PR to beat her previous best of 18:02 from Willamette's Charles Bowles Invite two weeks ago. Morris' performance also helped the Mounties to the second fastest team time in program history.

Ogden (Boise, Idaho) placed 12th out of 96 racers and was also the top NAIA competitor in Saturday's meet. Coming in at 24:24, he finished eight seconds ahead of teammate Grady Greenwood and 37 seconds ahead of the next NAIA opponent. 

Also consistently the first finisher for Eastern, Ogden's time ranks eighth in program history, and he led the Mountaineers to the seventh fastest team time in the 8k. Currently unranked, EOU outperformed No. 14 Carroll and RV LC State.

The Mounties have just one regular season meet remaining before the CCC Championships in November. They next travel to Independence, Oregon for Linfield University's George Oja Invite on Saturday, October 18.
