Eastern Oregon Women’s Wrestling Continues to Impress, Seven Individuals Ranked

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Eastern Oregon University Women's Wrestling team continues to make waves on the national stage, earning 40 votes in the first Regular-Season Top 20 Poll, released Thursday morning by the NAIA national office.

A total of seven Mountaineers appeared in the latest individual national rankings — an increase of three since the preseason poll. Gloria Diaz, Lexie Garza, and Veil Foreman joined the ranked list after standout performances that landed each of them a Top 5 finish at last weekend's Menlo Open.

Returning to the rankings, Nia Avelino maintained her No. 13 spot, while Telsarina Walter moved to No. 15 in the 110-pound class. Trinity Tafoya moved up three positions to No. 13 at 180 pounds, and Kiona Michel held steady at No. 20 in the 207-pound division.

Rankings are determined through a voting process conducted by a panel of head coaches from each conference, using a points-based system that evaluates both team and individual performances.
