MOSCOW, Idaho – Eastern Oregon men's basketball squared off with its second NCAA Division I opponent of the week on Saturday night, falling 97-68 to the University of Idaho Vandals in an exhibition contest.
Eamon Monahan and
Keilan Torkornoo led the Mountaineers with 11 points apiece, combining for seven rebounds and three steals.
James Bodily added 10 points and four boards.
Idaho's Jackson Rasmussen paced all scorers with 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting, while Brody Rowbury anchored the Vandals on the glass with a team-high nine rebounds to go along with five assists.
While the week's two contests do not count toward EOU's official record or statistics, both provided valuable preparation for the road ahead. The Mountaineers will conclude their preseason slate in Arizona, opening with a matchup at No. 2 Arizona Christian on Tuesday at 6 p.m. MT.
Eastern will then take on Park University Gilbert and Benedictine University Mesa before returning home on December 5 to begin conference play against Lewis-Clark State.
