KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Eastern Oregon Men's Basketball earned the No. 15 spot in the
NAIA Preseason Coaches' Top 25 Poll, entering the 2026-27 season with high expectations following a successful campaign a year ago.
The Mountaineers are coming off a 2025-26 season that saw them claim a share of the Cascade Collegiate Conference regular-season title, earn an at-large bid to the NAIA National Championship, and advance to the Second Round. EOU looks to build on that success as it prepares for another competitive season.
The No. 15 preseason ranking marks a significant milestone for the Mounties, who received votes in three regular-season polls last year for the first time since 2019. EOU last appeared in the NAIA Top 25 in a regular-season poll in 2018 at No. 21.
This year's ranking is the third-highest preseason ranking in program history. The Mountaineers previously opened the season at No. 6 in 2008 and No. 10 in 2010. EOU last received votes in a preseason poll in 2016, making this year's Top 15 selection another notable step for the program.
The Mountaineers return much of their roster, led by CCC Newcomer of the Year
Eamon Monahan, All-Conference selection
Keilan Torkornoo, and Honorable Mention recipient
Logan Orchard. Along with a strong returning core, EOU welcomes several newcomers who will look to contribute as the Mounties aim to build on last season's accomplishments.
The Cascade Conference was also represented by No.16 College of Idaho while Lewis-Clark received votes.
Eastern Oregon will open the 2026-27 season at home on Saturday, hosting Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) inside Quinn Coliseum in La Grande.
