TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Eastern Oregon University wrapped up the 2025 season at the NAIA Cross Country Championships on Friday morning, where the men finished seventh and the women placed 22nd, highlighted by All-American performances from sophomore
Grady Greenwood and senior
Riley Morris.
The Mountaineer men, ranked No. 6 entering the meet, delivered a strong team effort to secure seventh with 290 points. Greenwood led the charge with a 31st-place finish in 25:08.6, earning the first All-America honor of his career. Junior
Darian Slack followed with another outstanding race, placing 53rd in 25:27.8.
Thomas Ogden and
Trevor Nichols both battled adversity but still held down key scoring positions, finishing 60th and 108th. Sophomore
Hunter Marlatt turned in a solid effort in his national meet debut, placing 92nd in 25:52.0, while
James Thatcher steadily progressed through the field. Freshman
Riley Brown gained valuable experience as he closed out the lineup.
On the women's side, EOU entered the championships ranked No. 18 and finished 22nd with 569 points. Morris capped her standout senior season with a 33rd-place finish in 21:53.1, earning the first cross country All-America honor of her career and the fourth overall when including her track accolades. It marked a remarkable improvement from last season, when she placed 184th at nationals.
Kaleah Hines added another strong performance with a 71st-place finish in 22:35.8. She was followed by
Kiah Carlson (186th, 23:44.9),
Mattie Woodbury (217th, 24:00.4), and
Sadie McCoy (245th, 24:27.7) to complete the scoring five. Freshman
Taylor Redick and sophomore
Kennedy Taylor rounded out the lineup in their first national appearances with the Mounties, finishing 284th and 287th.
Eastern Oregon closes the book on the 2025 cross country season with plenty to be proud of, including two All-Americans, program records, and numerous top individual performances across both squads. The focus now shifts to the spring track season and the opportunities ahead in 2026.
