KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Eastern Oregon University cross country teams continue to climb the national ladder, with the men jumping two spots to No. 10 and the women moving up to No. 16 in the latest NAIA Top 25 Ratings released Thursday afternoon.
Both teams have competed just once since the previous ratings were announced, but they made it count with record-setting performances at the George Oja Invitational. The Mountaineers closed out the regular season in historic fashion, setting new school records for team times on the same course that will host the upcoming Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships.
Within the CCC, the men now trail only No. 9 Southern Oregon, as College of Idaho dropped from No. 4 to No. 19. Trinity Western slipped from No. 13 to No. 15, while Corban re-entered the poll, tying for the No. 20 spot.
On the women's side, EOU sits just behind the No. 5 Yotes and ahead of No. 18 SOU and No. 22 Lewis-Clark State. Oregon Tech and Corban are both receiving votes.
The Mounties well-positioned for a strong postseason run and will return to Independence, Oregon, for the CCC Championships on Friday, November 7, at the Oak Knoll Golf Course.
