Women’s Wrestling Picked Third in CCC Preseason Poll

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference announced its 2025-2026 Women's Wrestling Preseason Poll on Thursday, with Eastern Oregon projected to finish third. The Mountaineers received 43 points in the poll, coming behind the University of Providence (62) and Southern Oregon (58).

Eastern is coming off a strong 2024-25 campaign, finishing with a 3-1 dual record, a third place CCC finish and 24th overall in the NAIA. The Mounties return a solid core of national qualifiers, including Trinity Tafoya, Telsarina Walter, and Nia Avelino. While the team will feel the absence of All-American Liv Wieber and national qualifier Irma Retano, a promising recruiting class featuring Jessailah Thammavongsa, Veil Foreman, and Mallory Lusco brings new energy and depth to the lineup.

Eastern Oregon will begin their season on Sunday November 2nd at the Menlo Open in Atherton, CA.
