KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Eastern Oregon University's
Thomas Ogden was named the NAIA Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, announced by the national office on Wednesday morning.
Ogden (Boise, Idaho) was the top NAIA finisher at last weekend's LC State Invitational, placing 12th in a field of 96 opponents with a time of 24:24. His performance helped lead the Mountaineers to a fourth-place team finish, trailing only NCAA Division I programs.
Ogden's time ranks eighth in EOU history, and the Mounties ran their seventh-fastest team 8k. Eastern, currently unranked, finished the race ahead of No. 13 Carroll College, No. 14 College of Idaho, and RV LC State.
The Mountaineers look to build on this momentum as they prepare for their final meet of the regular season, Linfield University's George Oja Invite, which is set for October 18 in Independence, Oregon.
