MOSCOW, Idaho — Eastern Oregon University's indoor track and field team capped off an impressive weekend at the Lauren McCluskey Memorial Open & Multi with a series of standout performances on Saturday, including a victory in the men's heptathlon and several top marks on the track.
Justin Krabbenhoft took first place in the men's heptathlon, amassing 5,140 points. His total ranks third in EOU history and stands as the second-best mark in the NAIA this season. Teammate Judson Mansfield secured a second-place finish with 4,551 points, placing him 14th in the NAIA rankings.
On the track, Skotlyn Hill continued her strong season with a third-place finish in the women's 600 meters, clocking a time of 1:35.63. Her performance met the NAIA "B" standard and now ranks as the fourth-best time in EOU history.
The women's 4x400-meter relay team of Sydney Peck, Sara McKen, Skotlyn Hill, Taylor Joyce, and Nora Roscoe closed out the meet with a strong showing, finishing third with a time of 3:59.00. The performance met the NAIA "B" standard and ranks as the 10th-best time in program history.
With their "B" standard marks, both Hill and the 4x400 meter relay teams qualify for the 4th Annual Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships held in Gainesville, Florida from February 27th-March 1st.
In the men's events, Osman Osman claimed third place in the 400 meters with a time of 48.63 seconds, while Logan Hayes earned a second-place finish in the 600 meters, crossing the line in 1:22.42.
Eastern Oregon will return to action next week as the team travels to Spokane, Wash. to compete at the Inland Northwest Invite on February 1st.
