SPOKANE, Wash. – The Eastern Oregon indoor track and field teams delivered standout performances at the 2024 Spokane Invitational, held Saturday at The Podium. The Mountaineers secured two NAIA "A" standards, two "B" standards, and tied two program records during an impressive early-season showing.
The men's 4x400-meter relay team of James Connally, Giacomo Riguerio, Reuben Manzer, and Osman Osman hit the "B" standard with a cohesive effort that resulted in a time of 3:17.16, securing a third-place finish in a highly competitive field.
In the high jump, Tyler Jones cleared 2.06 meters to take second place and achieve an NAIA "A" standard.
Osman Osman matched a program milestone in the men's 200-meter dash, clocking 21.70 to tie the school record set by Cody Milmine in 2021. Osman's performance earned him fifth place in a talented field.
In the pole vault, Van Vinson claimed victory in his field with a jump of 4.43 meters.
Justin Ash delivered a strong performance in the men's 5000 meters, earning a podium finish with a time of 14:40.58. Ash's third-place finish also met the NAIA "B" standard.
On the women's side, Adrienne Washington stole the show in the high jump, clearing 1.71 meters to tie the school record set by Harley McBride in 2015. Washington's third-place finish met the NAIA "A" standard, cementing her status as a top contender this season.
The Mountaineers will continue their indoor campaign on January 24th at the Lauren McCluskey Invite in Moscow, Idaho.
