KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Eastern Oregon University Women's Softball team will open the season ranked No. 13 in the nation, as announced by the NAIA on Thursday.
The Mountaineers received a total of 300 points, marking the third-highest ranking among Cascade Collegiate Conference members. Also ranked are No. 4 Southern Oregon, No. 5 Oregon Tech, and No. 16 College of Idaho.
The Top 25 rankings are determined by a panel of head coaches from various conferences and unaffiliated groups. Panelists assign points to teams based on their rankings, with 30 points awarded for a first-place vote, 29 for second, and so on. Each team's highest and lowest ratings are excluded, and their score is adjusted by adding an extra point for each ballot the team appears on. Teams with only one point are not included in the rankings.
Eastern Oregon aims to build on its success from the 2024 season, which saw them win a Conference Tournament Championship and advance to the first round of the NAIA Nationals. The team will open its season with a home game against Central Washington University on February 8, 2025.
